In the world of aesthetic treatments, “skin boosters” are gaining popularity for their ability to improve skin quality without adding volume. But with so many options available—Profhilo, Seventy Hyal, Redensity 1, and Polynucleotides—it’s easy to feel confused.

This blog will help you understand how these treatments differ, what they’re best for, and how to choose the right one for your skin.

What Are Skin Boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to hydrate the skin, improve elasticity, and stimulate collagen and elastin. Unlike dermal fillers, they don’t sculpt or reshape the face—instead, they rejuvenate from within, improving the skin’s structure and radiance.

Think of them as intensive internal moisturisers combined with regenerative ingredients.

Profhilo: The Collagen-Boosting Pioneer

What is it? Profhilo is a unique injectable made of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid (HA), delivered in a high concentration. What sets Profhilo apart is its patented NAHYCO® technology, which allows it to behave more like a biostimulator than a traditional filler.

Best for:

  • Crepey or thinning skin

  • Loss of firmness

  • Mid-face and lower face laxity

  • Neck, décolletage, and hands

Treatment protocol: 2-3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 6 months.

Results: Improved skin texture, firmness, and hydration, with a gentle tightening effect. Results develop over 4-6 weeks.

Science spotlight: Profhilo stimulates four types of collagen and elastin (Types I, III, IV, and VII), thanks to its dual molecular weight HA [1]. It spreads smoothly across tissues, stimulating fibroblasts without altering facial volume.

Seventy Hyal 2000: The Intense Hydrator

What is it? Seventy Hyal contains HA designed to provide deep hydration and glow. It’s less of a biostimulator and more of a skin hydrator—think “dewy skin in a syringe.”

Best for:

  • Younger patients seeking a glow-up

  • Dull, dehydrated skin

  • First-time injectable patients

Treatment protocol: 2–3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 3–6 months.

Results: Immediate radiance and improved hydration. Some patients see plumper-looking skin after the first session.

Science spotlight: Seventy Hyal contains high molecular weight HA, which retains moisture in the skin’s extracellular matrix. It doesn’t stimulate collagen in the same way as Profhilo but delivers visible hydration quickly [2].

Redensity 1: The Red Carpet Booster

What is it? Redensity 1 by Teoxane combines non-crosslinked HA with antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. This “cocktail” approach treats oxidative stress and dullness while hydrating and rejuvenating the skin.

Best for:

  • Fine lines and skin dullness

  • Smokers’ lines and early ageing

  • Under-eye brightness (off-label)

  • Event prep or red carpet skin

Treatment protocol: 3 sessions spaced 3 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 3–6 months.

Results: Brighter, smoother, healthier-looking skin. Results often visible within days.

Science spotlight: Redensity 1’s patented Dermo-Restructuring Complex includes glutathione, zinc, and eight amino acids—key players in collagen synthesis and antioxidant repair [3].

Polynucleotides: The Regenerating Powerhouses

What are they? Polynucleotides are bioactive fragments of DNA derived from salmon or trout sperm, purified for aesthetic use. They act as bioregulators, stimulating fibroblast activity, wound healing, and skin regeneration.

Best for:

  • Tired, puffy or pigmented under-eyes

  • Acne scars or textural irregularities

  • Rosacea-prone or sensitive skin

  • Skin regeneration in mature patients

Treatment protocol: Typically 3–4 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 6 months.

Results: Gradual improvement in skin tone, texture, and firmness. Particularly impressive in fragile or inflamed skin and very popular around the eyes

.

Science spotlight: Polynucleotides activate adenosine receptors, promoting anti-inflammatory effects and increasing fibroblast activity [4]. They also scavenge free radicals and improve tissue oxygenation [5].
